How do you know when you are losing actual weight and not water weight?
Question by Manda Panda: How do you know when you are losing actual weight and not water weight? I have lost 3.5 pounds in 2 days. I know that is just water weight because I have been eating better and drinking tons more water. At what weight loss can I start to know/assume that it's fat I'm losing and not just water weight? There's no magic number, where someone can say "After X days of your new fitness plan will actually be fat loss". However, if you stay consistent every day with how much water you drink and weigh yourself at the same time every day, you can be confident that if you're still losing weight, you're losing fat. Give it time, it takes at least a month to have noticeable changes to your body with a disciplined and consistent fitness plan. Also: If possible, check your body fat percentage. Water weight can't manipulate that.
